4-20 mA Current to Voltage Converter

Precision resistors are often used in 4 to 20mA current loop circuits for sensing and control applications. The 4 to 20mA current loop is a common standard used in industrial instrumentation and control systems, where the current value represents the process variable being measured or controlled.

In a 4 to 20mA current loop:

● 4mA represents the minimum value or the “zero” point of the process variable.

● 20mA represents the maximum value or the “span” of the process variable.

● Any value between 4mA and 20mA corresponds to the range of the process variable being measured or controlled.

Precision resistors play a crucial role in this current conversion process. These resistors are carefully manufactured to have a very accurate and stable resistance value. The resistors are typically used in the following ways:
